In it’s 10 anniversary, Apple launched its new iPhone X model following the standards of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus showcasing an edgeless display screen and a beautiful design overall. Apple isn’t the first mobile manufacturer to bail on the frame, but it did it in a style that gave the user a more immersive experience.
We are now about to check the main specs of the new iPhone model to see its main value and find out if it’s really worth its money.
Sharp and immersive display
iPhone X has a frameless 5.8-inch screen with 2,436 x 1,125-pixel resolution, giving 458 pixels per inch. It displays a sharp picture composed of exceptional quality and vibrant colors along with the embedded True Tone technology that detects sunlight. The new technology automatically adjusts the screen brightness according to light to make it more readable.
The all-glass rear gives the new model a minimal and sleek look. It’s almost the same as iPhone 8’s, however, this time the dual camera is placed in a vertical orientation, which is frankly not a new style as we found it before in Huawei mobiles.
The lock button resides on the right edge of the mobile and it’s now longer than before, but it no longer turns the mobile off, only locks it. To turn off the mobile now user should press on the lock button and the volume up or down buttons.
iPhone is still giving up on the headphone jack. For music, users will have to use wireless headphones, or they can use Lightning to a 3.5 mm jack adapter.
With the same A11 Bionic processor placed in iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, the mobile gives excellent performance. It has a fluid interface and shifts quickly from one application to another. Moreover, it runs famous augmented reality games.
Instead of the popular back button, iPhone X introduced a new technique for closing applications and going back the previous or home pages. Returning back can take place from the new access to the control center by sliding down from the top right shoulder, or by pulling down the notification center from the top center notch, or the bottom bar.
By swiping the bar up, the mobile will turn back to the home page, but by swiping up and pause, it will open all previous applications.
Face ID feature
The Face ID feature which came to replace the touch ID became a trademark of iPhone mobiles that the company seems to insist on embedding in its new models.
Apple worked more on modifying the face recognition technology for its X model, it now works incredibly in the dark and made it quicker to use. X users don’t have to place the phone before their faces to open for a quick check of messages or notifications, they can now just swipe open the mobile then see a quick face ID animation.
An absolutely great camera
iPhone features a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens similar to the one in iPhone 8, but the new one has a wider f/2.4 aperture. The camera has image stabilization feature to correct and modify zoomed in images when being blurry orbit shaky.
The camera is highly detailed and offers great color accuracy along with high shutter speed. It takes the photos really fast. It is also very easily accessible and offers good performance in low light surpassing many other models. However, the comparison between iPhone X, Huawei P20 Pro, and Galaxy S9’s cameras is still debatable.
Prolonged battery life
An average usage of mobile will make it survive the day, most days it saves around 30% of the battery charge. However, the battery will be quickly depleted by using heavy applications like Google Maps, video streaming, and music streaming apps. The mobile is featured with the Qi wireless charging feature. No need for cables since just place it on the charging pad and it will get filled. The new mobile supports fast charging but it must be connected with the fast charging cable which can finish 50% of the charge in less than 30 minutes.
