It’s no wonder fried food is way hard to resist as frying is the best cooking method that delivers a crispy brown exterior and a tender, moist interior.

Today, we will briefly describe each method with reference to some advantages and disadvantages.

1. Deep-fat Frying Using Pan Method

Deep fat frying is the traditional method of immersing food in hot oil using a deep pan and often a basket until cooked and golden brown, drained well and served. It is an extremely fast type cooking method. This method was popular for a certain period of time to prepare chicken, fish, and chips at home. It is also commonly used in fast food chains.

Advantages of using this method:

  • Golden and crispy on the outside and grease free on the inside.
  • No loss of soluble nutrients
  • Extremely fast cooking.

Disadvantages of using this method:

  • You need a lot of oil and must be disposed of properly.
  • May cause burns.
  • Overheating can turn into a fire risk.


  • Use vegetable oil or sunflower oil – great for deep frying as they have a high smoke point.
  • Adjust and maintain temperature by using a deep-fry thermometer.
  • Season immediately.
  • Drain on a rack or absorbent paper before serving.

It is frying in a pan. The cooking of food in either no oil or pre-heated small amount of oil in a frying pan or griddle plate. This is compared to the depth of the food being fried.

Advantages of using this method:

  • Easy to use and control.
  • Much safer than deep frying.
  • Fast Cooking.
  • No loss of soluble nutrients.
  • Can add loads of extra flavor.

Disadvantages of using this method:

  • needs a lot of oil and must be disposed of properly
  • Timing is necessary and requires supervision.
  • Food must be flipped once to get both sides cooked.


  • Before adding your foods, make sure the pan is hot.
  • Flip it over when it appears to be slightly moist.
  • Drain on a rack or absorbent paper before serving.

3. Low-fat Frying Method

Low-fat fryers use only a tiny amount of oil to cook, as little as half or one a tablespoon of oil for a whole kilo of chips. This is great for quick chicken fingers, frying fish, French fries and more.

Advantages of using this method:

  • Excellent for dieting.
  • Needs very little oil.
  • They are easier to clean too.

Disadvantages of using this method:

  • You might need space for the fryers.
  • Taste might be altered due to the reduction of fat.

4. Air Frying Method

Fry, bake, roast and grill the tastiest snacks and meals. Air fryer is essentially a small, turbo-powered convection oven in which air is heated and blown around by a fan.  The super-heated air cook foods, giving results similar to deep-frying or high-temperature roasting.

Advantages of using this method:

  • Small amount or no oil is needed.
  • More efficient.
  • Cooks foods faster and more evenly.
  • Easy to clean.
  • Easy to use.

Disadvantages of using this method:

  • The taste is not the same as the normal frying.

Which type of fryers you think is the best for you and your family? What is the best for daily cooking? It is not easy to recommend one method only to you.  You should anyway keep in your mind that cooking has its personal taste or preference, and the he simplest things in life give the most pleasure, so cooking a good meal in the way you want will entertain you so much!
