The  new Galaxy S8 & S8+  is now available to pre-order but should you really buy one or opt for the much cheaper Samsung S7 ?

1) Infinity Display & The Snug Fit Curves

Tailored in 2 stunning sizes: a standard Galaxy S8 mode with 5.8-inch display, and a larger S8+ version having a monstrous 6.2-inch screen. Unlike the S7, which offered a small, traditional and a larger model, curved screen Edge S8 variants have mastered & expected to have edge-to-edge curved displays.

Samsung’s had curved-edged displays on its flagship phones for 3 years now, but this is the best yet. The smooth curves on the edge of the screen and on the back of the phone together make it such a cozy snug fit in the hand. Making it feel like home!

2) Powerful Chipset

New chipset utilizing 10 nanometer technology, making the phone more powerful, yet more efficient. Like the Galaxy S7, there will be 2 different processors in different parts of the world.

The US will get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 while the rest will get Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 chip.

Both are powerful enough. Samsung picked up right where Microsoft left assisting S8 users to transform their phones into a desktop. They worked with Microsoft to make sure that Office works effortlessly with Samsung DeX.

Google Android DeX is tailored just for your unique desktop experience instead of using Samsung’s proprietary standard Tizen OS.

S8 & S8+ will offer gigantic storage of 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Don’t worry, if you still run out of storage space, there is an option of expanding it with a microSD card slot.

3) Face, Iris And Finger Recognition

With so much screen, there was no room for a fingerprint sensor on the front of the phone so that’s on the back, next to the camera sensor. Raise the S8 parallel to your face, just like the concept of a selfie & unlock your phone in a jiffy! All hail to the face recognition. The new, developed version of the iris recognition scanner will be discovered on the Note7 handset. And it’s fast. So you can unlock your phone just by looking at it. Using the finger print sensor is easier as you don’t have to turn the phone 360 to locate it.

4) Camera

The Dual Pixel sensor just like your eyes, is quick enough to capture the moment. Focuses swiftly! It’s 8MP, an increase from last year’s 5MP.  It also debuts front-facing auto-focus in an effort to make your selfies clearer. The dark is no match for Galaxy S8 and S8+’s rear camera. Experience the real illumination through the darkest background, thanks to the bright F1.7 lens and large 1.4µm pixels. So what you see is what you’ll get in the shot.

5) Bixby

This is Samsung’s own intelligent search system. Finally the luxurious multi-modal search is here – just request Bixby with a command & watch the magic unfold as you don’t even need a key word to start your question. The ultimate Bixby Vision can be searc
hed by text and it uses the camera too which analyses what’s exactly in front of it. Makes calls for you when you say “Call Mother”, for instance, and works with around 10 Samsung apps.

6) Cool home button

Yes, the screen covers almost everything, and the fingerprint sensor is behind, that doesn’t imply there is no home button.

In other models normally the home button is either below the screen or on the display. This time a new special sensor buried inside exactly behind the screen so that when you touch it, you receiver a vibrating response which is so subtle it’s like you’re pressing a standard button. Feels good, works perfectly and is in just the right place.
