After last year’s exploding Note 7 battery, Samsung knows that it has some work to do in the consumer confidence department.
According to The Investor, citing Korean outlet Chosun Biz, the company has tailored itself & may offer Galaxy S8 buyers a three-month unconditional return policy. Considerably more generous than the industry average (2 weeks) and would certainly give prospective buyers/fans some additional reassurance. Specifically, Samsung says that after a typical year’s worth of charges and discharges, the Galaxy S7 only maintained about 80% of its total effective battery capacity. The Galaxy S8 and S8+, however, will maintain 95% of their capacity over that same period with the same usage.
Capacity was lowered for Samsung S8 to 3,000 mAh and Galaxy S8 Plus to 3,500 mAh which is comparatively less than last year’s S7 Edge, holding a 3,600 mAh battery. The officials haven’t really given a feedback or any comment regarding the battery life on the new model, however stated battery life should last longer simply due to improved energy management software and other tweaks.
There could be a massive silver lining even if battery life dips: Samsung states the S8’s battery won’t wear out as rapidly as the Galaxy S7. After 2 years of use, Samsung R&D boss Oh Boo-keun told us the Galaxy S8 should hold 95 percent of its charge.
