Ahead of the San Francisco event launch on 11 Feb 2020, the tech community online has been buzzing with rumors about the new Samsung S20. Following the success of the S10 and the Note 10, Samsung is expected to be making big moves with its first flagship of 2020.
The Glaxy S Series is Samsung’s premium flagship line. Now just a week away from the much anticipated release, the hype is real and everyone is asking: What changes will Samsung be revealing in the next Galaxy S model for 2020?
While none of the rumors presented here can be 100% (even the ones leaked from Samsung themselves), we already have a firm grasp on what the S20’s biggest features will be and what it has in store for us.
The sensible thing to do is to just wait for the Galaxy Unpacked event to find out for sure, but guessing is half the fun.
We did some detective work and here’s what we’ve heard about the new Samsung Galaxy S20.
Glaxy S20, not S11
While a lot of us were expecting the new Galaxy S to be an 11, all sources seem to be in unanimous agreement that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S20 come February 11th.
With the Galaxy S20, Samsung seem to have taken the ‘new year, new me’ expression to heart. The logic is that with the beginning of the new decade will come a re-imagined Galaxy S that is futuristic, advanced, and looking to set the tone for the mobile tech industry moving into the 20’s.
Sticking on the subject of names, we’re expecting 3 Galaxy S devices on February 11th: Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus & Galaxy S20 Ultra.
We don’t see the word ‘lite’ anywhere in those names, which gives you an idea about Samsung’s standards when it comes to the specs.
Galaxy S20 Specs
We’ve heard nothing but good things about the S20 Specs. In the display department; the S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra will come respectively in 6.2 inch, 6.7 inch and 6.9 inch screen sizes. All 3 devices will have an amazing 120 Hz refresh rate and a dynamic AMOLED display.
The Glaxy S20 lineup will come equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with up to 16GB RAM for the S20 Ultra.
We’re expecting 5,000 mAh battery capacity for the S20 Ultra and 4,500 mAh for the S20 & S20 Plus.
Samsung have been pushing the envelope of excellence and innovation in mobile photography for years, and 2020 is no different.
The Galaxy S20 Ultra is rumoured to boast a main camera with a whopping 108 MP sensor along with a 48MP 10x optical zoom Telephoto sensor and a Time-of-Flight Sensor.
That’s not all, we’ve been hearing a lot about Samsung’s new camera features. The “Smart Selfie” and “Single Take Photo” modes will allow you to capture multiple angles of the same photo in rapid succession.
On the back, the rear camera bump will be moved from the center towards the left.
Even though none of the above can be officially confirmed until the launch date on 11 Feb, all reports seem to indicate that Samsung is planning something big for the 2020 debut of the all-new Samsung Galaxy S20.
